Yesterday was a very special day. I got to meet Jacqueline who lives in a small rural community near Masindi, Uganda. My parents have been sponsoring Jacqueline for a few years now to help her through school (a 4km walk everyday) – an education that she would otherwise not have. With a huge smile Jacqueline ran as fast as she could to greet us as we approached her hut along a small dirt track. Then we took this photo and spent a few minutes together…
There is a lot of need in the world. Sometimes it is hard to comprehend how we can even begin to make any difference when you consider the sheer numbers involved. Though when you realise that those numbers are made up of real lives, real individuals, it becomes apparent that helping just one person is well worth while.
One life at a time…
This trip has been amazing – extremely hard to put into words, but amazing. This afternoon we’re hitting the Nile river for a safari, which sounds awesome – but in many ways I’d prefer to go and spend some more time with Jacqueline and her community…
Aw, she is adorable. Glad the trip is going well, ed.
